Jazzfest

Holy crapola! What an amazing night at the fest.

Dave, Matayas (my Hungarian couchsurfer) and I checked out the fest for a few/manyhours last night and what a wonderful night full of discoveries.

First up... Gupo Fantasma. A Nicaraguan group playing awesome Cuban jazz/latino reggae (my favorite kind of music). Musica del sol I call it Music of the sun. What an amazing show. Danced and grooved for the full show... too bad they weren't playing again @ 10 because I would have dragged everyone back. MORE MORE MORE.... 9.5/10 for sure!

Second show (which we saw twice @ 9 and 11) was local Montreal act Afrodizz. Again holy shit! What an amazing show. Whomever complains about local music should get their head checked. Afrodizz was intense Afrobeat grooves.... again another two hours of danicng and smiling. 8.5/10... thre was only 1 song which I didn't quite like but was still able to groove. Note to self... next time... wear proper shoes.. no gougounes. My back is still killing.

If the rest of the festival is anything like last night... it's gonna be a good one.
