Fire in the alley

An apartment fire in a building across the back alley from me.

I was in the kitchen yesterday and I just happened to look out the window and saw all this smoke in the alley. I grab my camera and run out on to my back balcony and low and behold, the building practically right behind me is on fire. The only clear view I could get of the action was from the stairs next to the my shed... pretty freaky. Fire has to be one of my biggest fears. I think it relates to when I was little, one of my best friends and his family were burnt out of their home.

So people... go check the batteries in your smoke detectors. If you don't have a smoke detector, GET ONE!

I should probably go buy a fire extinguisher.
