FEAR

Fear is the emotional response to a negative prediction. The negative prediction is powered by anger. Anger is a defense against a feeling of vulnerability. The vulnerability is perceived rather than real. Therefore you are living in a creative fantasy and hence you are psychotic.

Hi Chris,

My name is Teresa Brandstetter and I came accross your blog while searching for people writing about sports, nightlife and other interesting sutff in Montreal. I really liked your blog "Dreaming of Babylon" and especially your approach to traveling!!

The reason why I comment on your blog is that I work for a project called Earth.org, the open travel guide. Earth.org is a collaborative travel guide with a non-profit approach and we're looking around for people who are passionate about their home-town and who might like the idea of sharing their travel knowledge on such an open travel platform.

Like the name already says, Earth.org wants to create something like Wikipedia for travel. We speak from experience when we say that in general it is very difficult to find reliable and trustworthy travel information online. This is something that we want to fix by creating a wiki travel guide with a non-commercial approach. Responsible travel information written by travellers, for travellers. You see, we're not in it for the money, we want to create a responsible online travel resource. That is why we promise that at least 50% of our net income will go into environmental, social or cultural projects.

"That sounds like a great project, but what is in it for me?" you migth ask. Well, besides the obvious advantage of the intrinsic warm fuzzy feeling you get from doing good and supporting good causes, you get the opportunity to profile and promote your city and tell people why you love it: bands, food, biking, cool communities - whatever you're blogging about! Moreover, we're creating a new part of our travel guide: called "local blogosphere" where we will promote the local (travel) bloggers by hosting part of their RRS feeds. We believe that this is interesting added information for our Earth.org travellers and for you it obviously means new backlinks on a nice new travel website.

So to wrap up my already too long comment: we're looking for people like you. People who are passionate about their hometown and who would love to help bring some local knowledge to Earth.org.

I hope you're getting a bit curious about our project :) Just visit www.earth.org and take a look around. Add some information about Montreal(http://www.earth.org/travel-guide/Montreal-Quebec) in the travel guide and see what it is all about. If you want, drop me a line about what you thought! I will be happy to hear from you!

Warm regards,
Teresa Brandstetter
